For the 2026/27 season, billet families receive $750 per month for each player they host to help offset groceries and household expenses.

Who can billet
Billet families come in many forms, including two-parent households, single-parent households, empty nesters, and other suitable homes. The most important requirement is a safe, supportive environment and a willingness to welcome a player into the household.
What a home provides
A billet home provides regular meals, suitable living space, reliable internet access, and a safe, supportive environment. Families also offer reasonable supervision, clear household expectations, and the day-to-day encouragement players need throughout the season.
What families do not provide
Billet families are not expected to provide unlimited or specialty foods, supplements, personal expenses, mobile phone service, or electronics. Players are responsible for these items and any purchases outside the household’s regular routine.
Timing
Players generally arrive in late August and remain with their billet family through the hockey season, which usually runs until March.
Responsibilities
Billet families help players follow team schedules, curfews, school expectations, and household rules while maintaining regular communication with the Billet Coordinator. Any concerns involving a player’s safety, health, conduct, or well-being should be reported promptly.
Screening and approval
All billet families must complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check, provide references, participate in an in-home assessment, and attend billet orientation before being approved to host a player.

Application process
- Complete the Community Interest Form and select Billet Family.
- A member of the Jets team will follow up to discuss your household and answer initial questions.

- The Billet Coordinator and Head Coach conduct an in-home assessment and contact references.
- Approved families attend billet orientation.
- The team matches each family with a player and provides ongoing support throughout the season.
