A FEW MORE BILLET HOMES NEEDED
Billet families give Summerland Jets players a safe, supportive home during the hockey season. For many players, their billet home becomes an important home away from home while they live, train and play in the community. The Jets are currently looking for a few more billet families for the 2026/27 season. Approved families receive $750 per month for each player they host to help offset groceries and household expenses.
Who can billet
Billet families come in many forms, including families with children, single-parent households, empty nesters and other suitable homes. What matters most is providing a safe, welcoming environment and being willing to make a player part of the household during the season.
What a billet home provides
Families provide regular meals, suitable living space, reliable internet access, reasonable supervision and clear household expectations. Players are responsible for personal expenses, specialty foods or supplements, mobile phone service, electronics and purchases outside the household’s regular routine.
Timing and support
Players generally arrive in late August and remain with their billet family through the hockey season, which typically runs until March. Billet families stay connected with the Jets throughout the season and have a team contact available should questions or concerns arise.
Screening and approval
All billet families complete the required screening process before hosting a player, including Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks, references, an in-home assessment and billet orientation.

- Once approved, the team will work to match your household with the right player and provide ongoing support throughout the season.
