Soren Brons-Douville joins the Summerland Jets as a right-shot forward who brings strength, speed, and a physical edge to the team’s inaugural roster.
Originally from Cranbrook, B.C., Brons-Douville grew up playing minor hockey in Cranbrook before continuing his development with RINK Hockey Academy, Okanagan Hockey Academy, and the Osoyoos Coyotes. Last season with Osoyoos, he recorded three goals, two assists, five points, and 20 penalty minutes in 29 games.
Known by teammates as “Sorsey,” Brons-Douville describes himself as a power forward who plays with pace, compete, and physicality. His strengths include his strength, speed, and willingness to battle, and this season he is focused on improving his stickhandling and winning more small-area battles.
Jets fans can expect a fast-paced, physical game from Brons-Douville. He takes pride in getting pucks deep, laying the body, forechecking hard, and bringing energy to the group. As a teammate, he wants to be supportive, push the players around him to be better, and help bring personality to the dressing room.
For Brons-Douville, joining the Jets is a chance to play for Head Coach Robert Dirk again while being part of a new team and culture from the beginning. Now living and training in the Okanagan, he is excited to play close to home and be part of a Summerland community he has heard is fully behind its team.
This season, Brons-Douville hopes to be a versatile two-way power forward, contribute to the team’s success, and help establish a strong culture for the Jets in their first season.
