Nathan Juch joins the Summerland Jets as a left-shot centre with a strong local connection and high-level U18 experience.
Originally from Penticton, B.C., Juch grew up playing minor hockey in Penticton before continuing his development with the Okanagan Rockets U18 AAA program in the BCEHL. Last season, he helped the Rockets finish first in the U18 BCEHL, defeat the Junior Edmonton Oilers in regionals, and compete at the Telus Cup.
Juch recorded 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points in 34 games last season, along with 24 penalty minutes. He also helped the Okanagan Rockets reach the Telus Cup in back-to-back years, serving as an assistant captain during both of those seasons. Playing on the national stage two years in a row stands out as one of the biggest moments of his hockey career so far.
Known by teammates as “Juchy,” Juch describes himself as a defensive forward with creative playmaking ability. His strengths include skating, creating plays around the net, and bringing intensity to every shift. This season, he is focused on shooting the puck more, building a shoot-first mentality, and continuing to create offence while staying reliable defensively.
For Juch, joining the Jets is a chance to play close to home, compete in front of friends and family, and help create something special in Summerland. He was drawn to the opportunity to be part of a new team, work with Head Coach Robert Dirk, and help build a strong foundation from the beginning.
Jets fans can expect high intensity, hard work, playmaking, and a positive attitude from Juch as he helps the Jets begin their first season.
