Logan Messer joins the Summerland Jets as an experienced, physical forward who brings more than 100 games of junior hockey experience to the team’s inaugural roster.
Originally from Cranbrook, B.C., Messer grew up playing minor hockey in his hometown before spending the past three seasons with the Osoyoos Coyotes. In 32 games last season, the left-shot forward recorded four goals and six assists for 10 points, along with 43 penalty minutes. He enters the season with 112 junior games already under his belt.
Known by teammates as “Mess,” Messer describes himself as a physical player who can also make plays. At 6’0 and 190 pounds, he uses his speed and physicality to create energy, make life difficult for opponents, and open up opportunities for his teammates. This season, he is focused on adding more offence to his game, particularly with his shot and goal scoring.
Messer has earned recognition throughout his career, including Rookie of the Year during the 2023/24 season and Most Inspirational Player in 2024/25. He was also part of a U18AA provincial championship team in 2022/23 and served as an assistant captain that season.
As one of the more experienced players on the roster, Messer wants to be someone younger teammates can rely on and look up to. He takes pride in being supportive in the dressing room while bringing energy and physicality every time he steps on the ice.
For Messer, the opportunity to join the Jets came with strong recommendations about Head Coach Robert Dirk and the environment being built in Summerland. After experiencing the support from local fans through the team’s first games, he is excited to be part of bringing junior hockey back to the community and helping establish the Jets from the beginning.
This season, Messer is focused on increasing his offensive production and helping the Jets make a push into the playoffs, while giving Summerland fans an energetic, physical, and entertaining player to cheer for.
