Kruz Lyseng, Defenceman

Kruz Lyseng joins the Summerland Jets as a physical, defence-first player ready to help shape the team’s first season.

A left-shot defenceman from Calgary, Alberta, Lyseng brings size, energy, and a hard-working presence to the blue line. He comes to the Jets after playing with the Calgary Northstars and has also spent time with Wolverines Hockey Club.

Lyseng describes his game as physical, defensive, and passionate. He takes pride in clearing the front of the net, winning battles in the corners, standing up for his teammates, and moving the puck with confidence. Jets fans can expect a player who brings energy when the team needs a jump, plays hard, and wants to be trusted in key situations.

For Lyseng, joining the Jets is a chance to be part of something new from the beginning. He was drawn to Summerland’s small-town environment, the opportunity to help build a strong team culture, and the chance to develop under Head Coach Robert Dirk. He also has a personal connection to the community, with his mom now living in Summerland.

This season, Lyseng is focused on improving his puck work, making quicker decisions, and continuing to grow as a reliable, physical defenceman. He hopes to bring strong defensive play, high standards, community involvement, and a team-first attitude to the Jets as they build their inaugural roster.
