Glenn Braithwaite, Athletic Trainer

Glenn Braithwaite brings decades of emergency medical, operational leadership and hockey experience to the Summerland Jets as Athletic Trainer for the team’s inaugural 2026/27 season.

Glenn built his career with BC Emergency Health Services, serving in senior paramedic and operational roles throughout British Columbia. After beginning his career with BC Ambulance Service in Vancouver and advancing to Chief Paramedic in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, he later transferred to Penticton, where his work expanded to major event medical planning, emergency response and provincial operations.

Throughout his career, Glenn supported major events including Ironman Canada, Centre of Gravity, Boonstock and the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He was also the founding manager of BC Emergency Health Services’ Provincial Disaster Management program and held leadership roles supporting responses to major wildfires, floods and critical multi-casualty incidents across the province. He concluded his career as a Paramedic Operations Supervisor.

Hockey has also been a lifelong part of Glenn’s life. He began playing at a young age and has remained involved in the game through coaching, officiating and safety advisory roles with several BC minor hockey associations. That combination of medical experience, emergency preparedness and understanding of the game brings an important perspective to his role with the Jets.

Glenn has also spent many years giving back through volunteer and leadership roles with organizations including the Sunshine Foundation of Canada, Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, North Shore Rescue, Penticton Search and Rescue, Penticton Coronary Care Club and the BC Summer and Winter Games.

As Athletic Trainer, Glenn will help support the health, safety and well-being of Jets players throughout the season while bringing the calm judgement and preparation developed over a career spent working in demanding environments.

He is looking forward to being part of the Summerland Jets’ inaugural season and helping build a strong foundation alongside the team’s coaches, players, staff and community partners.
