Elias Hunt joins the Summerland Jets as a hometown forward ready to begin his junior hockey career in the community he calls home.
A left-shot centre from Summerland, Hunt grew up in the Okanagan and played his minor hockey in Penticton. Over the past few seasons, he suited up for the U18 Tier 2 Vees and the South Okanagan Knights, where he continued to build his game as a quick, shifty, and highly intuitive playmaker.
Last season with the South Okanagan Knights, Hunt recorded 23 points in 20 regular-season games, with 12 goals, 11 assists, and 12 penalty minutes. Across the full 2025/26 year, including tournament and playoff action, he finished with 34 points in 27 games.
Hunt brings speed, hockey sense, playmaking ability, and a strong understanding of team systems to the Jets. He describes his game as adaptable and high-skill, with a focus this season on continuing to improve his shot, build strength, and develop the details needed to succeed at the junior level.
A proven leader, Hunt has served as a captain and assistant captain during his minor hockey career. He was named Rookie of the Year in his first U18 season, and later earned MVP and top scorer honours with the South Okanagan Knights.
For Hunt, joining the Jets is personal. He has lived in the Okanagan his whole life and is excited to play in front of the people closest to him while helping shape a new team in his hometown. He was drawn to the chance to be part of a growing team, build strong relationships, and contribute to a community-owned club being built for Summerland.
This season, Hunt hopes to bring steady effort, skill, positivity, and a team-first approach to the Jets as they begin their inaugural season.
